Floating Price
What effect is there of NOT defining the sell price for the BOM?
Not defining a fixed sell price means that the price will change depending on the cost of the inputs. In the case of our wagon, we give the buyer a choice of colour which has no impact on price and a choice of wheels which does change the sell price because some wheels are more expensive than others. Having a floating price ensures that you are always selling your product at the set markup. See also Floating Price<LinkId=980>
Note: If you change a component product in the Bill Of Materials, you must save the product and then re-open it and re-enter the markup percentage to recalculate the price.
Select Inventory Create a new Product of the type Inventory Part Enter a %Cost/Sell which will be your Gross Margin % regardless of the cost of the product Set the sell price as "0" The system will now calculate the sell price for each order
